My copy of A Dance With Dragons is about... oh, a day away from arriving? And here I am, secretly hoping it gets lost in the mail. Reading the last book was almost like a vacation, because Jon wasn't actually in it. This one? Not gonna lie, I'm dreading all five thousand pages of it, and so is he. Mr. Martin doesn't make this easy for us. Ever. Not ever.

Which, of course, doesn't mean I'm not going to read it. Stark or Snow, everyone in the North is a a complete masochist, though we don't exactly seek pain as much as we see it coming and just let it happen. Winter is coming, etc etc. Yippee.

Well, guys, it's that time of year again. Summer in the city. Which means I won't be leaving my office until about mid-September. This heat is more than enough to suck all the moisture out of any, and me? Well, there might as well be ice running through my veins. I don't do so well in the sun.

So, friends and charges, do me a favor and check in with me here? I will leave my office for emergencies, but anything else... well, no, I guess I can't say that. If you need me for anything, big or small, of course I'm always available to you. Time, place, temperature, whatever – I'm yours. AC would just, you know. Be a plus. Or something. For Ghost's sake. He's a lot less growly when it's cold.
